Pulau Weh, Indonesia

It was a hectic week. The morning before departure, I was at the office 6:30am finishing off some visual editing. By 8am, I couldn't care less, left everything (done) and a note to my boss. Adios!
Budget for this trip is : RM1,800 (approx US450) which includes my flight KL-Acheh, 11 dives, accommodation. Food not included.
From Acheh, we had to take the slow ferry (2 hours) to Pulau Weh. There are speedier boats but were not operating that day.
Pulau Weh was the epicenter for the devastating tsunami in Asia a few years back. We stayed at Lumba-Lumba, resort/dive operator that have also been a victim or the tsunami. Lumba-Lumba was rebuilt, now it has impressive chalets, very modern, clean. Love it. Wifi available.
Dives was amazing - saw my first ghost pipefish just off the shore, eagle rays, dolphins (while on boat).
I also met this lady selling 'kuih' or local snacks that I've heard so much of from friends, because they were delicious. She carries them in her basket, and walks to Lumba-Lumba every afternoon, selling them. I told her she's already famous among the diving community in Malaysia.
We were there 5 days, I had a great dive. On the way home, we stopped at Bandar Acheh and visited some leftovers from the tsunami ie the big tanker ship right in the middle of a neighbourhood. Seeing how big the tanker was, and how far the sea was, made me realised how mighty are the forces of nature... and how weeny and tiny we are.
