1st stop of a terrific Texas TravBuddy weekend. Watched the day go down at The Oasis, the Sunset Capital of Texas overlooking lovely Lake Travis. Next, we laughed & dined at the fabulous, unique Hula Hut. After a lovely, leisurely dinner, a few hearty souls went downtown to the Warehouse District's Cedar Street Courtyard where we prattled & partied past midnight. The following morning, some of us went sightseeing & grabbed lunch before Francisco, Felicia & I cruised to San Antonio.

Austin - Tons of Sun & Fun in Amazing Austin

Four TravBuddies gathered for drinks at the Sunset Capital of Texas overlooking lovely Lake Travis. We chatted like monkeys (and with monkeys - see the photo to the right) then watched the sun sink low and disappear from my favorite place in the Austin area - The Oasis.

Next, we headed back towards town and met up with other TravBuddies and friends for our sensational Austin shindig. We had a wonderful time laughing and dining at a fabulous one-of-a-kind restaurant - Chuy's Hula Hut.

After a lovely, leisurely dinner, a few hearty souls cruised downtown to Cedar Street Courtyard, an urban indoor/outdoor club located in the heart of the Warehouse District. Suede, a classic rock cover band, kept us entertained while we prattled and partied past midnight.

I finally retired back to my hotel after almost 8 hours of making new friends and renewing old ones. It was especially enjoyable to again see David (Austin TravBuddy co-founder I met at the January 2008 San Francisco meetup) and Francisco (Puerto Rican pal I first encountered at the September 2008 Lima, Peru TB weekend).
