Day 4 – More shopping and Casa Pilatos
Day 4 – More shopping and Casa Pilatos
Today we had planned to spend the morning in a park and then visit Casa Pilatos in the afternoon. Unfortunately the weather didn’t look that good so we decided to do some more shopping instead. And this time I succeeded to find a couple of dresses I liked so it turns out I’m a girl after all… J
After the shopping we had lunch in Plaza de la Concordie, we just bought some bread, cheese and Cerrano ham and enjoyed that while watching people go by. Then we walked to Casa Pilatos to have a look inside.
We had walked past it before but as we were told that entry was free (instead of €8,-) for European residents on Tuesday afternoon we thought we might as well make use of the offer. We had a look downstairs first and then went on the guided tour upstairs. Even though the building was nice it was a bit disappointing, as the tour didn’t give much information about the building and the family, but more about the paintings and tapestries there. I would have preferred to hear more about the origins of the house to be honest so I looked it up myself and below is some brief info.Casa de Pilatos was the residence of the Duke and Duchess of Medicanelli y Alcalá. It was built by Fadrique Enriques after his return from
After the visit to the Casa we decided to go back to the hostel. My back was very sore at this stage (as it had been since Sunday) so we stopped in at a chemist to get some cream for it, which we managed to do in Spanish!
Back at the room we just chilled for a while, reading, blogging and spending time online. After that we walked back into town to Alameda de Herculés where we had a couple of glasses of wine and a good chat. We didn’t really feel like dinner today, maybe because we had eaten too much chips and chocolate in the afternoon? Back to the room it was to relax some more.
