Finding TravBuddies in Kansas City is a formidable task, for some reason. But when we find one it's time to cultivate and groom them into this travel cyberworld...TB style! We originally expected to have Natalia (Talia08) join us, but she had to work that evening. So it was just Mark and I to do the job. Mark couldn't make it until a bit later, which meant it was left up to me to make a good first impression!

Unfortunately, my week was not getting off to a good start. I spent the enire day in terribly BORING meetings, and before that had just flipped my vehicle after a deer broadsided me on a snow-covered road.  But ALAS, I made it in one piece at our pre-arranged meeting spot, Raglan Road Irish pub.

Everyone who came to the KC meetup this summer will remember Raglan. Lola texted me and said she was there, but where was I? Turns out that I was at one end of the bar and she was at the other.

We imediately recognized each other, and I think we were off to a good start. We moved to a table, ordered some food, and began our travel conversation! Lola is from Jakarta and so I was quite curious to find out how she found herself in KC. She filled me in with her side of the story and her travels, and then I relayed some of my travel stories...which I hope didn't bore her to tears! :) Mark showed up around 8:30, it was good to see him again. We talked a lot about TB, of course, and discussed a future meetup in the Branson area.

Lola had to leave sometime around 10:30 or 11:00. We were honored that she gave up her evening for us, abandoning her two cute little dogs she had just adopted in the process! I wish we could have had more time to talk, but now we may be planning a karaoke night at her place sometime soon. And she is a very talented singer, I hear. It was great meeting Lola...she's a lovely person and I will look forward to meeting up with her again.

After Lola left, Mark and I talked about my Mt. Kili climb and also discussed Amsterdam. We'll be staying at the same hotel there, so I pity the poor hotel staff!!!

Hey, I have always wanted to go to Branson, Missoura. I was thinking of taking a train trip there once. I wonder if Andy Williams is still playing there? My Barbies, when I was growing up, were married to Tom Jones, (and I saw his concert) Burt Bacharach, saw him too, and Andy. Have yet to see Andy Williams. I hope there is a TB meetup in Branson, I'm there! Luci Bella
