they were waiting for us! yay!
We arrived to Aguas Calientes a couple of minutes before 10am! We wouldn't visit Machu Picchu until next day. This day would be just a lazy one. So, in order to start our relaxing day we had to go to our hotel. I forgot to say something about accommodation. We wouldn't stay in Aguas Calientes, but in the Sanctuary Lodge next to Machu Picchu, awesome!!! So we needed to catch a bus to go up to Machu Picchu.

This small town has changed in the past 4 years, when I was there for last time. Now it's bigger, haha. I was just trying to figure it out where to go for the bus tickets when we saw a guy holding a shield with the name of the hotel.

Oh, perfect! We didn't need to worry about anything else :) They would even take our suitcases to the hotel if we wanted to stay in the town. Mmm, I could have brought more shoes... I said it loud and Eric almost killed me, haha.

There were 2 guys from the hotel and 1 of us came with us to get the bus tickets. As a Peruvian I paid less, haha. There is no time table for the buses, their departures depend on how crowded they get. So, you can get a ticket and use it at your convenience. One bus was about leaving and we'd take it. So we arrived on perfect time.

Although Aguas Calientes got bigger recently, this town is still nothing really special. Mostly is just a stop before going to Machu Picchu. We could have spent some time here, but there wasn't anything really interesting to do there at this time. We weren't hungry and we could visit the handy craft market in our way back to Cusco.

Furthermore, an "all inclusive" reservation was waiting for us. How could we waste valuable minutes relaxing near Machu Picchu?

We took the bus ASAP. The drive from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu takes about 25min, but this is not the only way to go to Machu Picchu, you can also do a trekking. Well, we both have been in Machu Picchu before and did the Inca Trail, so this time would be a lazy visit, lol.  We could either go straight to the hotel, leave our bags and go to the Park, but we both wanted to climb the Wayna Picchu and the best time to do it is early in the morning, so you'd have time not only to climb it but also to visit the park and enjoy a whole day in Machu Picchu. So we'd go to the hotel, chill out and relax this first day and climb tomorrow morning.

The past days it was a bit rainy here, but fortunately the sun was shinning when we arrived :)
