Having just started a travel company in Chiang Mai, my life here is a long holiday! When I have customers, I often accompany them on their trips and when I am "free", I go exploring and check out new places to visit and restaurants! Not a bad life! So please join me on my adventures here, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask, and of course, if you need help planning you holiday to Chiang Mai, please feel free to contact me! : )
Lovely nature resort in Chiang Dao
Lovely country resort in Chiang Dao (about an hour north of Ching Mai city). The resort is quite big with extensive grounds amongst beautiful gardens with lots of trees. There are also "nature trails" through the gardens with nice mountain views and streams that flow through the resort. Very peaceful.

There are several 1-3 bedroom wooden Thai houses, as well as some double and twin rooms. We stayed in the "Baan Pruksaya". There are 3 twin rooms with a common lounge and TV. These rooms are cheaper than the bungalows, but is behind the restaurant and in front of the kitchen. We didn't have any problem with the restaurant, but the rooms smelt of food when cooking takes place. However, you wouldn't have this problem if you stayed in the other bungalows or villas away from the kitchen.

The rooms and the bathrooms were very clean, and the grounds well kept. The bed was also quite comfortable and I had a really good sleep (which I normally find difficult when travelling).

When we were there, there was a problem with the water heating system - and the water was lukewarm - not very comfortable in the cold weather (10 degrees at night). The manager told us that they were switching to a Solar power system. I guess they were having teething problems, so this should be fixed fairly soon.

This is a great place for a little get away from the city and to get in touch with nature! There are also plenty of things to do around Chiang Dao like hiking, visiting Chiang Dao Caves or waterfalls.
