Rabat, Meknes, & Fes

For as long as I can remember I have had the insatiable desire to visit Morocco. I never understood why, so I was determined to visit the country to see if I could discover the answer. This was my 2nd trip to Africa in less than a year. Both trips were with the same friend. I knew this was going to be an incredible experience, but it definitely exceeded my expectations, despite becoming addicted to Moroccan mint tea!

Rabat, Meknes, & Fes

Here was our travel plan from Gate 1 for the day:

This morning, depart for Rabat, capital of Morocco, view the Royal Palace and the ancient ruins of Chellah, the Oudaya Kasbah, and the Hassan Tower.  Travel through Meknes, stop to see the most exquisite entrance gate in the city walls, the Bab Mansour.  Next, visit the ancient ruins of the Roman City of Volubilis and the exteriors of the nearby Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss.
