For as long as I can remember I have had the insatiable desire to visit Morocco. I never understood why, so I was determined to visit the country to see if I could discover the answer. This was my 2nd trip to Africa in less than a year. Both trips were with the same friend. I knew this was going to be an incredible experience, but it definitely exceeded my expectations, despite becoming addicted to Moroccan mint tea!

On our last day, I thought a lot about why I HAD to visit Morocco.  The answer never came to me and I am not sure it ever will?  However, when we feel a strong connection to something in life there is not always a clear reason.  What is important is following the connection and seeing where it leads you.  In this case, Morocco led me to understanding the Arabic culture in a better way, to falling in love with a new cuisine, to riding a camel and holding a snake, and to making many new friends.

Here was our travel plan from Gate 1 for the day:

Full day at leisure.  Tonight, dinner is in Jemaa El Fna Square, where you will dine on traditional Moroccan fare while watching one of the dance performances that the square is famed for.

I have been trying to make it to Morocco for a couple of years now. Seeing your pics has renewed my need to make the time. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Safety was never an issue. The Moroccans are lovely people. I've heard the transportation is a bit rough, but I'm not sure as we only took taxis and the buses our tour agency provided for us. If you have anymore questions please feel free to ask!
