New York (ING) Marathon 2008

Have been to NYV to support my friend Tobias at his first full marathon.

We went there with a marathon team and stayed at the Marriott Marquis Hotel located directly at the TimeSquare what was great!
We had only 3 whole days, so there was not so much time to walk around and explore the city. Although Tobias had to take care for his feet.
So we just walked around Manhatten, visited the Battery Park and Ground Zero, walked along the Broadway of course...
We also had to go to the Marathon Expo to get the numbers for the race.
And: we were in NYC on Halloween! All streets were crowded with Halloween styled people. That was really amazing!!! Unfortunatelly we couldn't go to the big Halloween parade Downtown cause we had tickets for a party in the Roseland Ballroom. Armin van Buuren, the world number 1 trance DJ, was playing there that night. The party was great, but we didn't stay too long cause the next morning we had to get up early because of the Intercontinental Friendship Run where Tobias and me took part.
Sunday was marathon day and it was great even I did not run for myself but watching all the others! But it was too cold and stand there for several hours was really uncomfortable ;-)

Anyway - it was a great trip to NYC and also great to support Tobias to fullfill his dream running at the NYC marathon :-)
