Perth's (not so impressive) ferris wheel

I had been so enthusiastic to go on the 50m ferris wheel located on Perth shore near the Bell Tower. Ever since I got back to work, I had been joking (but at the same time) serious about going on it. I rounded up a couple coworkers who also didn't mind spending $15 on a ferris wheel that isn't big enough to really be impressive and have great views, but not an open aired, faster moving amusement park ferris wheel. In any case, we went on it, more for the right to say that yes we'd spent $15 to sit on a ferris wheel looking at the views of a river and not a whole lot else.

I've posted some pictures below that I took while on the ferris wheel. I guess my major complaint was that although there were hardly anyone wanting to go on the wheel, with probably less than 1/4 of the pods being used, they put a woman with two kids in the pod with us. Having strangers sitting across from us, definitely cut down on the fun level. The bonus was that it was about 30 degrees outside and the pods have air conditioning.

Oh well, the ferris wheel has been ridden. Maybe it's more fun at night with the city skyline lit up??

The ferris wheel is a bit of a joke in Perth, no one quite understands why it is there! Its not like Perth can rival the London Eye... there's very little to see! :D

Perth's (not so impressive) waterfront ferris wheel
For $15 per person, you sit in a ferris wheel type pod and go around three times over about 10 - 12 minutes. Pros: - a good way to kill 15 minute… read entire review
