The market in the "Rocks" part of the city

Me, Anton and Mike decided to meet up in the morning to do some exploring. We met up in the CBD and walked up to the "Rocks" area to have some breakfast. The buildings have quite a different look to them than the rest of the city. There was a pretty big market going on along two of the streets but it was mostly crafts and souvenirs and no food. We found a nice restaurant with an outside courtyard and ate there. It was pretty good and the highlight was a bird crapping on Mike's camera that had already fell in water a few days earlier. It's kind of like adding insult to injury haha

Since we were near Circular Quay, we decided to hop on a ferry to Manly Beach. The ferry ride takes you along the Opera house, with views of the Bridge and everything between central Sydney and the water.

There were speed boats, sailboats, jet boats and every other kind of boat out in the harbour.

We arrived in Manly and saw a place called "Ocean World". Apparently you can scuba with sharks, stingrays and turtles. Well, we've been there and done that! Although the sharks at this place weren't the docile sharks we saw in Byron Bay :)

We walked along the main strip in Manly and arrived at the beach. Since it was overcast it wasn't great tanning weather but it was awesome sleep weather. Dion met us there and I think we all have a pretty good snooze on the beach. Since we'd been travelling non stop for quite awhile, a nice, relaxing day on the beach was much appreciated.

In the evening we met up with some more of the people from the tour, Kaz, Sam, Katja.

We ventured over to Kings Cross and had the best Thai food I'm ever had at a place called Opium Den. Definitely worth the wait and the trip to Kings Cross!!

Afterwards to came back into the central part of the city, walked through China Town and found a place serving beer and desserts along Darlings Harbour. The views around Darlings Harbour are awesome at night with everything lit up. At the base of the harbour there is the biggest IMAX screen in the world (or so the sign says). There were some people busking and lots of people hanging out along the waterfront.

Having caught the cold that pretty much everyone on the tour had at some point, I was ready for a good night sleep in my hotel room ... with no roommates to wake me up! YAY!
