I have lived in NYC all my life and always talk about the OTHER places I have been...lately I have realized that I live in an amazing city and it's time to share my HOME!

Today I went on a field trip with my students to Manhattan.  In second grade, New York City

kids learn about their city...so we plan these great trips into the city once a month.  Today's trip

was to the The Top of The Rock on the observation deck of 30 Rockefeller Plaza...what I consider to be

the heart of Manhattan during the holiday season because of the ice-skating rink, the huge Christmas

Tree, and all of the elaborate holiday windows on 5th avenue.  The kids were stoked!  It was so cool to

see them look out onto the sprawling city from so far up!  Many of them have never visited a NYC skyscraper

before, let alone go to the top!  It really refreshes my love and appreciation for the majesty of this town!
