Kuta --> Pura Besakih (Mother Temple)

As I have said before I can not remember every temple we visited. Simply because there were so many of them. Unfortunately I lost the tour map (hope to find it again).
There are many temples on this island, but just one is being called "Mother Temple". That's Pura Besakih, the most important Hindu sanctuary on Bali. It is located close to Balis highest mountain. Gunung Agung. Besakih was probably already founded in the 8th century. It is a huge complex consisting of more than 200 single buildings. We went there together with a young couple from France. Our driver told us that guides would show up at the entrance to lead us through the temple area. And even more important: he told us what would be an adequate tip! Indeed a young man intercepted us shortly after we had left the car. He guided us through the complex and did a good job. We watched a group of women preparing offerings. Afterwards we suddenly realized that a funeral ceremony was going on in one area. Poor people, they had many spectators from all over the world.
