Selamat Datang - Welcome to Indonesia
July 4, 2001
Prambanan is one of the largest Hindu temple compounds in south-east Asia. The main complex is surrounded by more than 250 individual temples. It was built around 850 CE. The reconstruction of this World Heritage Site began in 1918.
Some months later we were on our way. We had to fly from Duesseldorf (Germany) to Kuala-Lumpur (Malaysia), then to Jakarta. "Malaysian Airlines" turned out to be great choice! They offered a menu card. And every (!) seat had its own LCD monitor for movies and video games. :-D At Jakarta, the Indonesian capital, we took a flight to Surabaya our friends dab booked in advance for us. Surabaya is is located in Eastern Java. Not far away from our final destination: Malang.
