Great rock formations in this Valley.
On our way to Capitol Reef NP we made a short stopover at Goblin Valley State Park. It is located close to the  small village of Hanksville. Goblin Valley SP is well known for its mushroom-shaped rock formations. Some of them indeed have the appearance of goblins (unfortunately I have not scanned a proper picture, yet). Or to be precise: the appearance of creatures called goblins in some Hollywood movies.
The pan-shaped valley is only two miles long and one mile accross and can be overseen from the parking area. It looks quite neat from this point. Once you have entered the valley it is a maze, though! We took the opportunity and shoot a short "Lost & found" video clip within this outdoor playground. I will upload the clip as soon as possible.

Trivia: A part of the great SciFi parody "Galaxy Quest" (highly recommended, especially to Star Trek fans) was shot in this park. We shot some funny video scenes there, too, but I wonder whether Daniel will ever find the time to cut them together ... (Hmm, funny, a movie seems to be the only thing that can be put together by cutting ... ;-)

Unfortunately I never went to that state park but I liked the gas station built inside the mountain in Hanksville...

Yes, this is a cool park, we camped there overnight! Utah's state parks often get overlooked, with so many beautiful national parks there to see!
