1. Venice Canals- Apparantly, Venice was built to be based on Venice, Italy, and used to be comprised of a lot of canals just like the European version. Most of them have disappeared by now, but there are still a few left you can walk around. There are lots of really expensive houses along the canals, and its fun to stroll by and check out the interesting architecture. Also, how cool would it be to live in a house where you can jump in your boat to go to your neighbor's house? Maybe I'll just dock Eric's sailboat at my house then in between his many oceanic travels.
2. Venice Beach- Sort of like Berkeley's Telegraph Ave, but by the beach. Lots of street vendors and interesting personalities out all the time. A nice walk up/down the beach, with a view of the gorgeous Pacific Ocean the whole time. And I muts say, once you leave California, there are few things as comforting as seeing the beach/ocean welcoming you back home.
