MASAAI VILAGE

From Arusha I took 02 crowded  dala-dala (crowded mini vans used as local transportation). It´S hard to believe the way people travel; stand, no seat belts, sometimes the drivers turn the engine off and…

After more than an hour on the road we (02 guides and I) got off and took a long walk to get to the village. So hot, so dry, so dusty…

It´s hard to believe that nowadays people still live the way the Maasai do.

They live with the animals: cows, goats and chicken inside the Maasai Boma. No electricity, short of water, so, so dusty!!!! when it´s cold they make fire inside the boma (their house) …

Women are responsible for building the bomas.

VISITING THE HEALER
We saw lots of them walking long distances with carrying a kind of straw, a lot of… They also take care of the kitchen

There was a kind of a communal one where women shared their chores and  I was invited to stay and help them

On our way we saw lots of small boys taking care of the cattle, they were so young, maybe 05 years old, and at the same they seemed so independent. So different from the children of my country.

We visited the healer and what surprised me the most was the fact that the majority of the medicine he had was for getting married and having babies…

Actually it´s hard to explain this experience. You´ve got to go and check out the way they live. Share time with them.. feel the vibe

I did like going there people were nice, they wanted to know about me… They were always smiling. Children wanted just to hold my hands and start to run… just that…

Maybe that´s because  I always had something in mind: Respect to be respected
