All geared up to zipline through the jungle. How lucky that my hat matches my outfit.
I took a risk and got suited up to zipline through the jungle on a Canopy Tour, hosted by Los Veranos Canopy Tour company, http://www.canopytours-vallarta.com/info/index.htm. I'm not an "extreme" sports kinda girl, but my trip theme was adventure, so off I went. After riding for about 30 minutes or so we arrived at their headquarters and got all the training necessary for a safe fun thrill ride. With my helmet and gear I walked up, and up, and up to the first zipping point. I was about the fourth or fifth person in line and once I stepped up onto the wooden platform, I immediately got nervous, but not for long because with a swift motion I was connected to the zipline. With a quick breath and a smile to the guide, I was off flying through the sky. The feeling was amazing, I smiled and giggled all the way across my first line and was happy and surprised at how easy it was. I think I travelled across 14 or so lines at varying heights and lengths and enjoyed the newness of it all. I flew with my hands on the "handle bars" and with hands off, eyeing the scenery below and around me. I flew over rocks, streams, and trees, and even a few shacks. My zipline mates happily chatted with one another and we were blessed to have a great day and to have gone out in the morning before the heat of the day kicked in.
