On the road again, time for more novel like emails.weel this time started the adventure last thursday 20th Nov, after staying up all night being sent of well by sweet Nic, Hence i felt like i was about to implode for the majority of the day!! Flew out of Gatwick at 3pm and arrived after a 2 and a half hour flight in Helsinki, Finland at 8pm. Then Jackie and i got a bus into town and called a hostel who said they would have space for us, we stopped off in a pub for a quick pint and a baked potato filled with reindeer and mayo, very tasty!! Then off to our hostel which was inside the olympic stadium!! Very cool. Had a wee bit of a beast in our room but i am sure karma will bite her one day soon!!!
Next morning got sorted and jumped on a public tram that does a figure 8 around the main part of town, was a good way o get bearings but by the time we got off we were huuuungry!! found a place that had soup and it happened to be sweet potato....sooooooooooooo yum!!! so after warming up we went out to go back and have a look at some of the buildings closer up, they were nice but it is a pretty standard european city. it was also freezing! About minus 2 most of the time but windy too. had a nice dinner at a restaurant called michelle and headed home for an early night as we had an 8 am ferry booked for the folowing morning.
We managed to get up around the right time but somehow manged to be half an hour late out of the hostel thn had to wait for a tram and then there was no bus down to the port so had to madly get a taxi and ended up at the port at 7.54am. Way to early in the morning for that sort of carry on!! So on we got and watched outside as we pulled away with much snow falling in the freezing cold, took some pictures then managed to find some seats in the bar, little did we know we were three feet from the karaoke set up, so for the next few hours we listened to both finish and english versions of all the classics, Had a wee nap and 3 hours later we docked in Tallin, Estonia.
