Jan sucking a lollipop

Soon after we got to Hoeve Montigny Jan arrived as well. The first thing we did was pick bedrooms and unpack. Jan got the disabled room downstairs as he was the eldest.... ;-) Petra and Lieke decided to share and Reagan and I were sharing as well. Again I can't stress enough how great these rooms are, with good beds, private bathroom and more. The house was a bit warm because it had been closed up and the weather had been so hot so we opened some windows but soon had to close them again as a storm was predicted. It didn't turn out too bad and it actually cooled everything down a bit which was quite pleasant!

Jan started cooking with the help of Lieke and Petra, after Petra and I made a run down to the shop to get some more chicken and mushrooms due to an error in communication.

.. ;-) He made his now famous chicken gorgonzola dish, which tastes great. So great in fact that most of us had seconds and we finished the lot! People arrived with short intervals in between but in the end we were with 10 people:

Jan, Petra, Lieke, Tom, Miet, Eef, Jacqueline, Stefan, Reagan and myself. As Stefan didn't know much about TravBuddy of course everyone was telling him about it and trying to be the one who would invite him as a member to get the Ambassador Award. Luckily I'm the only one with his email address! :-P

Reagan had fun in the playground and with a girl who was staying in the group accommodation next door. She also got everyone to play games with her: hide and seek, Ganzebord (a traditional Dutch board game) and she had a great time like everyone else. We all had a fun time talking about all sorts of stuff and of course travel was the main topic. Jan had just come back from Chios and Petra from Florida so they had lots to tell, and others are planning holidays so there was plenty to discuss! Because the weather was so nice we sat outside until quite late (way past the curfew of 11 pm!). Some had an earlyish night but most of us didn’t go to bed until around 2am
