Well, I have arrived in Semporna. The last few days have been fantastic, not only did I see both orangutans and proboscis monkeys at their prospective sanctuaries but I also saw them IN THE WILD, along with macaques, gibbons, langurs, hornbills, kingfishers, eagles, crocodiles, frogs, tarantulas, monitor lizards etc etc. We stayed at a rather basic camp on the river, just on mattresses in open-sided huts. We went on lots of boat trips down the river which is where we saw most of our wildlife and a couple of short walks. Only thing I would change would be to have taken a better camera! All the blokes seemed to have these fantastic cameras with huge zoom lenses (compensating for something lads?) so got the most amazing photos, whereas my bog-standard point and click just wasn't up to the job.
But never mind! I had my binoculars and I can quite easily find pictures of all the wildlife with the help of google.

I'm off to Mabul tomorrow which is where the diving place I'm using is based. Only problem is....I've gone and got a bloody cold! Which means I can't dive, yet. Should be able to swap with this other lad I met at the jungle thing called Josh and go a couple of days later instead but its a big pain in the bum. Only time I've been ill so far in my trip and it had to be now didn't it?! So I'm about to go back to my dorm and raid my medicine bag for anything which might help. Fingers crossed it shifts itself soon!!!

P.S This is where I've been the last few days if you want to have a nosey.....
