***Enter blog and click next entry to see latest!*** Off to spend 6 months in South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand and New York. I want to meet fun people, experience new cultures, see amazing wildlife and generally have a brilliant time! Without getting sunburnt, eaten alive by mosquitoes or gobbled up by sharks. Will try and keep this as updated as possible so I can make you all horribly jealous :)

Diving in a Tropical Paradise

I cannot possibly begin to describe the amazing diving I have done over the last three days, it was absolutely spectacular. So I shall just give a quick summary of the final dive I did this afternoon. One minute there's a huge turtle swimming inches from my face, looking me right in the eye then the next I'm surrounded by thousands of barracuda as a reef shark glides about a metre below my feet. I saw thousands of fish in every shape, colour and size imaginable and a school of dolphins in front of our boat on the way back. It was just breathtaking. I am soooooo glad I took that diving course, I think the last 3 days have given me one of the best experiences of my life. I'm also starting to feel more confident with diving, I can now control my buoyancy pretty well and don't panic when currents try to sweep me away.

I was lucky enough to dive with my friend Josh as my buddy today, he's a qualified divemaster and it really helped!
It's just been a good few days, we met some lovely people and spent all our spare time playing cards with them. Best group of people I've met so far and I was seriously sad to leave them behind today. I think I could have quite happily spent another week there! The food was rubbish and the bed was uncomfortable but despite my yucky cold I enjoyed every minute of it. Borneo in general in fact. It has been the highlight of my trip so far. It's exceeded my expectations.
Anyway, diving makes you very tired!!! Plus I have horrible sunburn. God knows how I got it because I spent all day either in a wetsuit or in the shade. But hey, with skin like mine its all-too-easy. Sigh. So I'm off to let Jesse rub some aloe vera into it then having a lovely long sleep. We have a very long journey back to Kota Kinabalu ahead of us!
