Burchell's Zebras
Had a nice late start, not waking up til 6:45am. Susan looked HEAPS better after her good night's sleep so that was perfect timing. We had yummy French toast for breakfast then headed off around 8:30am. Our destination for lunch was Halali lodge, also within Etosha National Park, where we planned to celebrate Susan's b'day in style at a restaurant. On the way again we saw huge herds of giraffe, 2 female lions (far away though) and 2 RHINOS! Yay! Got a few good pics. Lunch was lots of fun. Susan got 2 cards, some money, a poem written by Lloyd which was amazing, an apple crumble, a lemon meringue, a 'Party Time' banner, a chocolate muffin, and we all had whistles we blew for her. I think she enjoyed it, and I know we all did! We paid for her lunch too. We sang Happy Birthday and she blew out lots of candles on each of the cakes. Forgot to mention as we were parking at the lodge Jacob swiped off a massive branch of a tree, punching a hole in the side of the truck in the process! Funny stuff! Poor Jacob. After lunch we continued the game drive and saw a male lion right by the road! Very cool. Sam also spotted another one in the distance under a tree. We made it to our campsite at Okaukeujo Lodge at 5pm and had a quick swim in the pool before showering then having tea (chicken with mash and veggies). We then headed to the waterhole but didn't see anything. Bed ~10pm but didn't sleep too well. Listened to my ipod for awhile.
