so we fought off all the people around the car & walked down to the taj. it really was spectacular to see in person! so enormous & gorgeous! it took them 22 years to build that sucker.
mark & i decided to get a guide & we found this 50 yr-old man (which come to think of it - he looked MUCH older than 50 - is that right, mark?) who gave us the tour. he bascially took our picture at a lot of different spots, told us about where the stones came from & told us the height of the buildings. we didn't get too much more detail...but it was actually okay. it was fun to walk around & one of my favorite parts was actually seeing all the other people coming to visit the taj.
it was so so so so so so hot down there. oy. i just can't get over how hot it is!
when we drove back to vrindavan, we went over to mark's friend, neval's for lunch again. they are just so nice! his wife made us a delicious lunch again & we just hung out and chatted. :)
after that - i was pooped and decided to chill in my AC room for a bit. it's crazy how much energy it takes out of you doing things here!
mark had hindi class tonight so he had neval (his friend, but also his teacher!) and the other student come over to his place, so i got to listen to them learning hindi for a little while.
after mark's class, his friend tulsi (married to shaymdas) stopped by & we chatted with her for a bit. she is a reiki practitioner & she is just so cool. i loved getting a chance to hang out with her - just very good people. then, we were starving so we went out for dinner. it was so interesting - we actually went to this guy's house that he uses as a restaurant. and he made us pizza & pasta. not what you would expect!!!
all around an amazing, interesting, awesome day!
