then, his wife, neelu, made us this DELICIOUS lunch of some pumpkin/eggplant dish, beet & sesame salad, a yummy soup, potato dish, beans & roti. i was STUFFED.
AND they have an adorable new baby. mark, what's his name??? i know it means winter season...and then krishna. but i can't remember!
after lunch, we had a car pick us up to drive to gokul to hang out with shaymdas. shaymdas is a very close friend of mark & he is quite amazing. he is from new york, but lives out here as well & he speaks many different indian languages & translates many books. another very wise man.
we also had lilat (mark - help - the other part of his name? i'm getting so bad at this!) come with us.
so, lilat, mark, shaymdas & shaymdas' dude (the guy who is like mark's govin) headed out to the yamuna river. another incredibly holy place. it was amazing! so nice to be away from all the cars & all the traffic. we took the most amazing walk.
anyway, we basically just walked and walked for awhile. it was super peaceful. then we sat along the river on a pile of sand & watched the sun go down & the stars come up. it was so nice to sit there, all together, in silence. i really loved it.
we got back to gokul, to shaymdas' place & he made us dinner....again, yet another delicious indian meal. and of course served on the leaf plates & leaf bowls - i just love them.
we ended up getting home super late - but man what an AMAAAAZZZZING day! and did i mention that i constantly feel like i'm in a movie while i'm here? it's all just so surreal that it seems like i must be a on movie set or something. it's just so cool. or go-kul. ha ha!
