**by the way, the pictures in this section are all out of order, but i don't have the energy to fix them right now!** :)
i flew from bangkok to phuket on monday & hopped in a cab & headed down to Nai Harn beach. mike dovbish's friend, matt, has been living in thailand for 7 years & he has a sailboat down there. he picked me up & we went out to get a bite to eat at this restaurant at a place called "Ao Sane". little did i know at that time, that Ao Sane would be my home for the next few days. turns out they are a hotel too & they had these awesome little bungalows on the beach - RIGHT on the beach. so, it seemed like a good idea to stay! :)
tuesday i went on a run around the lagoon - OMG, have a mentioned how hot it is here? i was DRIPPING with sweat.
wednesday i went out on a day long dive trip. went on 3 GREAT dives!!! very fun group. all germans & one other american. i find it so amusing - all of the german divers smoked SO much. i felt like they were lighting up before they even had their scuba suits off.
thursday, i had met this french couple - francois & isabelle - & they asked if i wanted to go to phuket town with them & tour around the island. they were so nice & i figured, why not. it was nice to drive around in a car & they were so sweet i thought it'd be fun to spend the day with them. i have to say, i have to give a big MERCI BEAUCOUPS to madame maier from MHS. my french actually came back to me pretty well & i was able to really communicate with them. so fun! and then at anight, matt & i went out to dinner in kata beach at this REALLY cool restaurant called SKA Bar - on the beach in this huge banyan tree.
and then today, friday - isabelle & francois had planned to got to phangnga to do the whole island touring thing (it's where "James Bond Island" is - i know, it sounds SO cheesey, but it was fun). It was awesome to get out in a long boat, just the three of us (and our driver of course!) and zoom around the mangroves & these gorgeous limestone rock formations. Such a great day!
They drove me into Phangnga & helped me find a place for the night. They are headed back to Ao Sane & I'm going to continue on to Krabi/Railey tomorrow.
WOO HOO! I'm up to date (even though I haven't elaborated as much as I have in the past!) - I just have to figure out when I can upload some of these pictures I have. I am in love with my camera - it is so amazing! Between the gorgeous scenery & my awesome camera, there is no way I can't get a good picture (that's a double negative, but you know what I mean!)
