I stopped at more gorgeous beaches today! :) There is defintiely a theme here.
I LOVED my stop in Robe....I did this awesome little walk out to Long Beach & then I strolled up & down the beach for a long time. It was SO gorgeous & the water felt great!
After my beach walk, I treated myself to fish & chips before I hit the road. But, I did do the GRILLED fish option & I did get DIET COKE, so the chips don't count, right? It was so funny - there were SO many birds swarming around. That's pretty much the case at all these shops - but I can't help but think of Finding Nemo when all the seagulls are saying "mine, mine, mine, mine".
So, then, I high-tailed it as fast as i could to Adelaide! :) I made a bit of a mistake and actually went IN to Adelaide. Andy lives about a half hour south & it wasn't the best driving strategy for me. I called him up & got specific directions and I was on my way. It was so funny though because I had to go to the bathroom SO badly for a little while. The, finally, when I'm on the right road heading to Andy's - there's some train tracks I have to go over and OF COURSE we have to stop and wait!!! I was DY-ING. Thank god for McDonalds - there was one right after the train stop & I was saved. :)
The whole trip was definitely a bit longer than I thought it would be - but hey, I made it! It was so great to see Andy & Maggie & their kids! Woo hoo!!
The minute I saw where he lived (technically port noralunga, south of adelaide), i realized i should have planned more time here!!! :( (i have a flight to bangkok on friday...boo!)
Maggie made a delicious dinner - surf and turf and didn't tell me until later that I was actually eating kangaroo!! It was actually quite tasty!! We then went out to see the sun set. SO happy to be here. They are just the sweetest & so hospitable! And if you know Andy, you know that there was plenty of freshly brewed beer!!
