*****DAY FIFTY-FOUR (Sun, Jan 25th) - MORE CATLAINS COVERED & FINALLY MADE IT TO THE HAZYM RANCH IN DUNEDIN*****
I had more Catlains to do today. I had missed the "Lost Gypsy Gallery" on my way to Owaka...I didn't have time for it yesterday, so I decided to back track. And I'm SO glad I did. It was SOOOO cool. This guy has spent 5 years building this cool place with all these crazy electronic gadgety things. You will know what I mean when you look at pictures. SO cool.
OH WAIT - I didn't mention....guess who I ran into getting coffee this morning?!? THE BIKING GROUP. I think we were all seriously starting to wonder who was stalking who. Very funny. It was great to see them & have coffee with them!
I then saw some more waterfalls (okay, I'm just about getting over the whole waterfall thing I have to say!) & then for some reason I wanted to go back to Surat Bay to see if I could see more sea lions.
More driving & of course I decided to make the drive out to Nugget Point. More gorgeous views, seals, etc. The highligh of Nugget Point was going into the Art Gallery of this funky lady. She did all these energy paintings & crystal thingys & card reading, etc. You know how I love that stuff! I actually ended up buying some rose quartz from her & a painting. :) It was really an experience. I just shipped the painting home today - so we'll see what I think of it when I see it again when I get home in June! She was definitely a trip & had some beautiful artwork!
THEN I was finally on to Dunedin to get to Chris & Heidi's.
ANYWAY, FINALLY after a long crazy drive out to their place....I made it to the HazyM Ranch, as they call it! It is SOOOOO awesome. I love their place...it's in Aramoana...out past Port Chalmers....at the end of the Peninsula. They are directly across from the end of the Otago Peninsula where the albatross colony is.
They were just sitting down to a ridiculous dinner of fresh paua they just caught, steak, chicken, salad, etc. Chris & Heidi had some friends over who were so nice as well. We just drank wine, sat outside in the gorgeous weather & hung out. I am SO happy to be here! :)
