I can't believe it - but I've started my adventure around the world! My tentative itinerary is New Zealand, Australia,Thailand, Laos, Vietnam (Habitat for Humanity), India, & then Croatia (going to my friend Bella's wedding there). "Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go, be what you want to be, because you only have one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do!" MWAH!

#26 - I HEART WANAKA!

Yes, it's the lake again.

****DAY THIRTY-NINE (Saturday, January 10th) - I HEART WANAKA!!!*****

I had such a mellow day in Wanaka.  I did things like - MY LAUNDRY (very needed at this point), went grocery shopping and bought some new facial soap/sunblock/etc.  I felt like I was doing some maintenance.  I also bought some Berrocca....it's kind of like EmergenC...but I think it has more Vitamin B too or something.  Anyway, it's a great hangover cure & I think I had one too many glasses of Sheep Shaggers the night before with Emer and Ronan.  :)

The two girls (ladies? women?  i never know what to say!) who were staying in the room next to me invited me to go on a hike with them, but I really wanted to just chill and not do much at all.

a toast with lisa & dolores...my new "roomies" for the night.
Dolores (from Wellington) and Lisa (from NZ orginally but living in the UK) were so nice & part of me wishes I was up for joining them....but I really just needed to do a whole lot of nothing.

I spent most of the day just wandering around, checking e-mail, etc.  and guess who I ran into?!?  Sheila and Larry Brown!  I ran into them in the internet cafe and then again outside a pizza restaurant.  So, I sat down with them again and had such a nice time chatting with them.  And wouldn't you know that they are both Jewish therapists from New York?!?  Just so perfect - I loved meeting them!  :)

Then, Dolores & Lisa were back at the hostel and invtied me to dinner.  We went to Relishes, which was DELICIOUS!  I really liked that restaurant.  Great service, great food (I had this yummy pasta with pine nuts & mushrooms!), and great wine.

I could tell immediately that I was going to love Wanaka & that I didn't want to leave after just a couple days!
