This time of year, the nature in Zeewolde and his surrounding area's are at there best. The Forrest comes to life, new animals are born, and the tulip fields are in full production. Just outside the village you will find lots of farmland, windmills , Forrest and water.
To make more money, lots of farmers use a piece of there land for the production of tulip bulbs. As a result of that the area around our village is very color full. White, red, orange, yellow and purple colors every where. And in a nice sunny weekend you will find lots of people in the fields to take pictures and enjoy the smell of fresh flowers.
An another way for the farmers to make money is to install an windmill on there property.
The Forrest around Zeewolde is partly a production Forrest, that means if you cycle or walk through the Forrest and a week later that part of the Forrest is gone. But new trees are put in the ground, especially by children on special day called "boomfeestdag".
If you like water sports, in zeewolde is enough space to do windsurf, kite surf or sailing. On the beach it's nice during the warm periods, OK it's not like the famous playa's but the water is wet, fresh and safe for children.
In the village it self you will find some restaurants, bars and a shopping area. The village exist now for 25 years and we have about 20.000 citizens. Just outside are 12 campsites 6 harbors and one holiday PARC.
So if you are in the neighbourhood , this time of year it's worth a visit.
