Stone Mountain

Just outside of Atlanta, GA, sits Stone Mountain.  This is a neat place to visit if you're in the area.  You can hike up to the top of the mountain, or you can pay to ride the sky lift to the top (you have the same options for getting down the mountain as well).  If you have a fear of heights, this may be scary for you, but trust me, it is doable!  There are fences all around the top of the mountain, so don't worry about falling off.  It is kind of like walking on the moon, because it is so smooth.  You can see everything from the top.  It can be quite windy though.  Many of the locals actually run up and down the mountain for exercise.  It is a fun recreational activity for the whole family.  Make sure you visit the museum nearby as well.  It explains the history and geology of the mountain.  I really enjoyed it.  I've been to Stone Mountain twice now.
