Crossing the Mississippi River
January 7, 2008
Crossing the Mississippi River is always exciting, no matter what city it's in. St. Louis is always nice because of the arch. Memphis is another nice city to cross in, due to the city's skyline and unique buildings. The river is wide, but once you cross it, you know you are officially on the other side of the country (from west to east and vice versa). It's a big step during a cross country road trip.
During this particular road trip we take every year, Memphis is the deciding factor on whether to take the Tennessee route into Georgia, or whether to take the Mississippi and Alabama route. Once again, I prefer the Tennessee route, but I might try to go through Alabama again sometime in the future. Maybe it will be better next time.
