A MANLY-ish night

"I want to have a MANLY night... And my only friend that's a dude is a Japanese sailor in Hiroshima..."
That was Dave's request, when I met him at the USO after his watch. Hmm... so off to a MANLY night of beer, fast food, electronics store, and junk food. We stopped at The Morrigans, our favorite bar in front of the base. It was the typical weekend night, pretty quiet, bunch of Navy guys celebrating a birthday, a few regulars and Japanese business-men. But we were HUNGRY and Morrigans doesn't offer any decent amount of food, so off we went to find some dinner. We decided to try somewhere new, Mos Burger, especially since their burgers didn't really look like... burgers! We had a little bit an an ordering mishap.
We decided to walk home, and Dave remembered there was supposed to be a big electronics store on the way that the man at our local tabacoist/stamp provider/Hamm radio shop told him about. After mistakingly walking into a pachinko parlor... we found the shop, just a block further down. And it's true, the place is huge! I wandered around the camera supplies and E-books, Dave harrassed half the store clerks trying to find some cord to hook up our laptops to the TV. They finally found an Indian guy that spoke enough English to point him in the right direction. We ended up buying some wiring, the cord, and I got a nifty set of grape purple headphones for my iPod.
All that wandering around left us HUNGRY. Again. Thankfully, the Wal-mart is just around the corner, so we headed that way to pick up some more food. At this point, the night became less manly with me going "Since we're here... I need a new purse," and "Boy, those pants look grotty... you should get a new pair..." but whatever. We got some mochi crackers, sweet corn tortillas, microwave shumai dumplings, icecream, Meiji chocolate and Cup-o-Noodles, and headed home to watch Transporter 3.
Ah... MAN'S night in Yokosuka, Japan.
