My view of the hike: Theseus Lake as viewed from the ridge

More details here: http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/minotaur-lake

It takes about 2 hours from Redmond to get here so we left by 7a. The drive for the most part was straight forward, but the last 7 miles were on a narrow road with lots of potholes and took forever to get there. Also,  the carpark was rather tiny, thankfully we were the 4th or 5th around so we did have ample space.

The hike, on paper says a fast 1900ft elevation in the first 1.5 miles. It was way harder than what I'd imagined. But a great cardio workout! We started at 930a and reached the lake by 1045a. The lake was incredible. However, my mate didn't want to continue on to Labyrinth Mountain so we spent some time hanging around there itself. The views from the ridge were fantastic, the mosquitoes were not.

The descent, which we started shortly before noon was as tiring as the ascent. Still so many people flowing in.... this hike is indeed very very popular!

1900 ft in 1.5 miles seems pretty steep. For me too, descending kills my legs.
