At the trail head - we chose the Crystal Peak

More information about the hike here:

We started our hike at 1030a. We reached the Y junction 45 minutes later, with a 1.6 mile one way hike to the Upper Crystal Lake whilst the peak was 2.5miles. We took the later. Even though the aim of this hike (at this time of the year) was to view the wildflowers in full bloom, we found very few. And were infact, almost disappointed. Until we reached the top. And wow - forget the wildflowers, but as the link above describes, you get to see all 6 peaks of both WA and OR states! We reached the top close to 1pm.

After a 15 minute break and munching down our PB&J sarnies, we started the descent which was surprisingly easy. When we arrived at the peak, we were the only ones. Good thing we left 15 minutes later as 3-4 sets of people reached the peak and it was becoming noisy.

Our descent took about 50% of the ascent, and we were back in the car and ready to drive home by 230pm!
