After breakfast, the Kayaking group got on a different boat while our Aloha five-some we're taken to the Amazing Cave a.k.a. Surprise Cave. I've been to caves before, they all look the same. The only difference this one had over the others was that it had this giant phallic rock that makes the cave quite a big surprise. It's awesome how this cave is lighted too. Of course, from the viewing deck we get to see Ha Long from that very classic vantage point.
Boarding the junk once again, we started to head back to the City. We had early lunch around 10AM. Again it was one very good lunch! I would have to recommend Handspan to anyone planning on going to Ha Long. They simply are the best! Granted with Handspan, you get to pay a little bit more, but it's all worth it.
Right after lunch, Mike wanted to go up the sun deck immediately to savor the last couple of hours we have on the boat. I guess everyone felt the same. We all headed up to the deck with cameras and drinks in hand.
Like I said before, I'm fond of the group I got to go with in Halong. I think we're quite a good bunch. We traded contact details as we headed to shore.
Once back in Hanoi, we all parted ways.
All in all, I think Ha Long has been the highlight of this trip. It was just perfect to have it after exploring Hoi An, Hue, Hanoi and Sapa... just sitting around eating, admiring the beauty of the bay and taking loads of pics. Meeting the group is also as much a highlight as seeing the rock formations of Ha Long. I wouldn't have it any other way.
