Peace Corps is over...now what do I do?

Rest and Relax

a main road on our compound

My family has lived in Saudi Arabia for the past 12 years- my father works for a big oil company.  It’s where I think of when I think of home.  Life on a Saudi compound can’t really be described- it needs to be seen.  I wanted Ryan to see my hometown- so off to Saudi we go.

Unless you work for a company, or are a Muslim going on Hajj, it’s pretty much impossible to get a visa to Saudi Arabia.  Thanks to my parents cutting through tons of red tape we got Ryan a visa via a scuba diving company on the Red Sea.  We flew to Bahrain and then drove across the massive 25km man-made bridge into Saudi.  There are so many checkpoints on the causeway, at any one of them a temperamental customs agent could’ve stopped us fro hours…thankfully the visa was perfect and we sailed right through.

WhiteHeart says:
Hey Jordan,
I am glad Ryan arrived and pass through checkpoints.
