Melissa- My girlfriend, and chauffeur!
Always looking for an excuse to take a trip! I guess that's the philosophy of most of us on TravBuddy! I had accepted another job offer, and was finishing out the month of July at the old place. My girlfriend Melissa had long since put in for the first week of August as her vacation week... so, I just told the new place I would be available start August 11th! (Somehow, I always manage to squeeze an extra vacation in, between jobs! hehe) Now, I had just spent a week in the Virgin Islands with my son Tyler, so I wasn't up for anything too expensive, and neither was Melissa. I know! How about Maine? It's not too far away, it's relatively inexpensive, there is a lot to see and do, and she had never been there before. Perfect! I found a hotel for us online that was right in Bar Harbor, and we took her car instead of my truck, to save on gas. We got everything packed and loaded the night before so we could get an early start, and headed off to our first destination.. Old Orchard Beach!
