Normally that drive would take about 3 hours, but this time is took 5!! We made plenty of stops for photo ops. lunch and coffee. It was brilliant. I was so nervous driving up because we were to meet the minister for the first time and see the church, which we had booked sight unseen, just some online photos. So I didn't mind the leisurely drive because it gave me time to get ready.
My father-in-law is a man of few words, typically english so I frequently had to take charge and decide we were having photo breaks.
our first stop was Ragged Point- one of our favorite lunch spots- not because of the food which is greasy and bad for you in every way- but because of the spectacular views!!! The bright fuschia bougainvillea is stunning, and the ocean views are not any better anywhere else!!!
Our next stop other than a few vista points was Nepenthe restaurant and gift shop. This is another favorite- tasty food that's not too bad for ya and an awesome gift shop with unique finds. We love to go up their just to go to the gift shop- it also has great coffee in a little cafe with an amazing deck to look out at the coastline.
