Goa, Goa, Goa! When I knew I was going to India this Nov, I wanted to visit more than Bengaluru, and Goa seemed the obvious choice as it had all the makings of a good holiday - sunshine, beach, fancy resort and lots of architecture to keep my Nikon happy. The challenge was being able to find the cheapest flight. Well thanks to my mum, we landed on Go Air, my 1st time on India's latest low cost carrier. I have to say, it was a pleasant enough flight for the price (which, was still expensive in my eyes). The flight took about 1.5 hours and even though you buy food inflight, thanks to my mum's business points status, we all got a free sandwich and bottle of fruit juice.
The plane landed in Goa on time, and it was nice being back to one of my favourite cities in India.
I can't believe how small and old the airport is. But it seems a lot like some Italian airports I've seen and the formula "if it ain't broke, why fix it" comes to mind. They have ancient carousels, a very crowded arrivals hall, an almost hidden toilet and the exit seems so 'closeby'. A few steps past the the crazy arrivals' hall and you're there, actually outside!
The weather was quite hot for me, but breezy enough for Indian standards. We had elected not to have the resort cab pick us up as it wasn't free, we preferred to taxi it ourselves. We found one fairly easy (thanks dad!), and off we were on our merry way to the resort. My mum and dad have been here before, they told me it'll be around an hour to get there. Not that I was complaining, other than wanting to sleep, I really didn't have much going on anyway!
Weather was a bit too muggy for my liking
