Shipwreck Beach, Mutsu Bay, Japan
August 18, 2007
On one of our day trips to areas around Misawa, Japan, we went to Shipwreck Beach in Mutsu Bay. Unfortunatly most of our travels in Japan are day trips due to Eric's deployment schedule. I am not certain of exactly how old the shipwrecks are. One of the driving directions for them is a huge mound of scallop shells (smell is not very nice on a hot humid day). The beachs are littered with debris, semi-polished agates, and beautiful black glittery sand (very magnetic it turns out).
