My Aunt's neighbor has a badminton club that starts everyday at 6 AM. I figured to stay fit after eating alot while on holiday, badminton was the solution to burn off some calories. The group had theme color, yellow. My Aunt was able to lend me an orange shirt. They had four courts and the fee was only 15 PHP for the entire morning. It was great, I played for about 2 1/2 hours. I mentioned to them to watch us on tv on November 20th, because we will be in the popular "Wowowee' game show.
Later that day, me, Aunt Erie an her driver went to the Green Hills area to pick-up the tickets. My co-worker in NYC hooked me up with a relative who worked for ABS-CBN tv station. After about 30 minutes of not being able to find the Eisenhower Street, we realized that Madoll's apartment was in Eisenhower Building.
On Thursday morming, we (Ate Divine & her son Dominic) were up early by 6 AM, had breakfast, showered and Alyssa arrived by 9 AM. Our driver drove us to the studio located in Quezon City. Dang, the lines to secure the tickets for the show was long. It seemed that it was a line for an American Idol auditions.
We are now on the line to get inot the actual 'Wowowee' studio which was about another half an hour wait. I wanted to take a photo with the paige who wore a cool yellow 'Wowowee' jacket. I tried to get a photo with him but he misunderstood me. I just only wanted a photo of me and the back of his jacket which has the big logo on it.
The doors opened and we piled inside. We decided to sit on the right side, third row. We should have sat near the DJ booth because we found out afterwards, the camera dudes spent MORE time there. The audience warmer guy made sure that we were pumped-up and make the loudest cheer once the host (Willie Revillame) entered the stage. We even learned the silly ' 'Wowowee' hand dance, like the Village People's YMCA.
At the beginning of the show, Willie handed out aobut 15 'Wowowee' jackets. Only the senior citizens, a disabled woman and a boy who was mentally challenged who got some. For some strange reason, they liked getting foreigners to the join in the contest. This time was a white dude from Entfield, CT? Who the hell knows of that place? Very obscure.
In between commercials, they were two gay guys serving as Audience Entertainers - Trista & the other dude (I can't remember his name). They were a HOOT! I even voluntered to sing in-between the commerial breaks and as always, I forgot the lyrics to my song (Faithfully by Journey). I won tickets for their live comedy show at LafLines club.
After three hours of taping, we were already getting our fill. The show ended and we were herded out the studio. We went to Trinoma Mall and decided to have a late lunch at Max's Restaurant. I was dying for some good chicken + a lomi noodles, Yummy!
