Charlie and Saundra
While one weekend is nowhere close to enough time to see all the sights of Vegas, any longer than that and I think my liver may have given way. Its funny how every hotel/casino looks the same with all the slot machines and card tables lined up but each can be so different with the variety of themes. I mostly enjoyed wandering around the mini-cities that are the newer casinos and people watching. Between the beautiful hotel lobbies and shops plus the mix of people you can be very entertained, especially when in a drunken stupor like I enjoyed. The city itself is pretty dirty and not much fun to walk around but luckily you rarely have to be out much with the casino’s connecting to each other. At worst you have to use one of the pedestrian bridges. My favorite part of town though was old Vegas around the Hard Rock Café and the Pioneer casino’s though you had to take a cab they are reasonably priced. While these casinos might not be as nice as the Paris, Bellagio, or Caesar’s, the drink specials make up for it and then some. If you make it to the Hard Rock be sure to grab a drink or dinner at the Pink Taco, because as the slogan says “eating out never tasted so good?. No really, it was a great restaurant. Just be sure to pack plenty of cash because if the blackjack table doesn’t get you the dining and shows will.
