It is possible...there are further gates from each other than my flight out...

If I thought the distance between gates for the flight into Vegas was bad...this was worse. If you take a map of IAH airport and go from the gate in the far upper left corner (ie. C16) and look down to the furthest gate possible from there (ie. E28)...well...that's what I had to connect! Luckily I had time for this connection, and even managed to take a break in the lounge for a couple beers before heading to the gate. Turned out to be a great idea!
Two beers at the gate, a wine with the meal and a weekend of little sleep led to a 10 hour flight that I slept over 8 hours of! Boy did I need that!
