Return Trip to New Orleans

Summary of my second visit to New Orleans. This time, I got to see more of the city. Each entry was about a different aspect of my visit, and the types of attractions along with their locations. Does that sound confusing? I can see why, but I can't think of a better way of explaining it.

Return Trip to New Orleans

A return trip to New Orleans. This was when I would see a lot more of the Big Easy, that I did not see in my last trip. This trip was a full week, and I would end up staying at Mike’s place again. This time, he lived in the uptown area with friends. I would also attend church with them, and meet with more people along the way. I would be there from around July 21st to the 28th.

I arrived in New Orleans, and took the bus to the French Quarter on Canal St. It took over an hour to get there. Then I transferred to the St. Charles Streetcar to get to the uptown area, where Mike and Damaine lived. I got to meet up with them, and caught up.

I would be going in the middle of summer, which was offseason there. The rain would be on and off throughout the day, but the humidity is always there and very oppressive. And I did get some mosquito bites as well.

I was using Fodor’s New Orleans guide, and followed the walking tours in that book. I would be touring various neighborhoods and visiting a bunch of attractions. Plus I get to eat some beignets again.

For this trip, I will get into different aspects of the trip, and my point of view on them. At this time, I didn't think much of taking pictures of landmarks, since I thought postcards would be good enough, plus I was very cheap, even with rolls of film. This is why you don't see many pictures. Also, keep in mind, this is not a day-by-day account of the trip, but the dates are within the time frame of the trip. You would probably be better off reading someone's blog, which is more organized and informative than mine.

Also, all of this was before Hurricane Kitrana, so check ahead of time for the latest information.
