Ok a few more snow flakes now! :D

As the sun continued to set and we drove out of Sedona, I made several comments on the stormy sky off to the side, not realizing we were about to head through all that!  As we drove, it looked like rain was forming but it didn't make the same noise rain does as it hits the window.  Could it be?  Nah?  Nope, it is...SNOW!  OMG...we were in the beginning of a snow storm.  I had heard it snowed in Flagstaff but guess we were about to find out for sure!

Melissa was very excited as she had not seen snow since she was about 5 years old.  For Brett, I am sure this was an unhappy reminder of East Coast winters.

Brrrrr!  I actually have been in the snow this year more than I'd like - living about 1 1/2 hours west of Lake Tahoe has helped find me in several snow storms headed over the Truckee/Donner Summit pass into Reno. The worst being in January of this year - worst storm in 50 years!  Yes, full blizzard with white out conditions so I was not looking forward to the rest of our drive through this.  And Melanie.....well, we had our inexperienced snow driver with us!! LOL.

We got out to take a few pictures of the scattered snowflakes and I soon realized the snow was starting to fall harder and it was almost dark.  I kept trying to get the girls back in the car and on the way as depending on how bad it got up ahead, we might not make it through.  Brett was having minor panic attacks in the back every time Mel only had one hand on the wheel or changed the song on her IPod.

The most perfect pic of the snowball hitting Melanie!! LOL
LOL.

As we continued on, the snow worsened considerably and at one point, we were nearing white out conditions.  Fortunately, we ended up behind a semi truck again which was good so we could follow his tracks.  Finally it appeared we were coming out of the snow storm and the clouds were parting so we found an exit and decided to take a few more snow pictures.  Poor Brett was still rather antsy at this point but we did manage to drag him out of the car for a couple photos (he was in shorts mind you).

We tried to do some snowball pics but as Melissa and I were supposed to tag Melanie with the snowball I slipped and ended up lobbing it right at Melissa and down her shirt! LOL.  She shrieked and we all laughed.  Well, Melanie decided to get me back and ran up to me, literally putting snow down my back as I screeched and tried to take off my jacket to get it out!  Too late, it was melting down my back..thanks Mel! LOL.

I did manage to get the best pic of Mel and I with the snowball...Melissa took the photo just as I threw the snowball at Melanie and you can see it hit her head...LOVE IT!! :D

Ok Brett, Ok....a couple more photos and we were on our way again.  Only a few more hours or so until we were back in Vegas!!! LOL

No way! Ask Brett! When it started it was just a few flakes obviously and when we were playing with the snowballs, it was after the storm. It was not as bad as the blizzard I encountered in Tahoe (worst storm in 50 yrs) but it was almost white out conditions...and add to it, Mel was driving!!! LOL
