Day 2.  We're here.  What a long flight.

After clearing Customs (?) and Passport Control we were met by the car rental agency.  We had been communicating with Lee-Ann at for months.  Since the group was so large we needed something for the seven of us and luggage.  She suggested a ten passenger van and it was perfect.  The agency was absolutely responsive, friendly and helpful and the prices were great.  After loading and reloading the van, reloading we departed for Hazyview.  This was to be our home for the next 6 days.

The drive to Hazyview took 7 1/2 hours.  Unfortunately we drove the last 2 hours in darkness so we really couldn't see what was around us.  We had been advised against driving at night and we can understand why.  The roads, while very well maintained are, for the most part, dark.  Add to this right hand drive, lack of detailed paper maps but we did have a Garmin GPS with South Africa City Map, and, the most worrisome of all, people walking alongside the road.  We had extra sets of eyes and they proved most helpful.  Additionally we were very pleasantly surprised as the drivers are very courteous and safe.  We saw very little speeding or aggressive driving.  Big change from Miami.

We finally arrived at Hazyview staying at the San Bonani Resort,  Here we had been emailing with Joan and had all the information available to make the check-in quick and painless.  Very nice after that drive.   Went to our unit and more surprise.  It was just what we had hoped.  Large, 3 bedroom, dining area, living room and kitchen.  What more could we ask for?  How about a view of the Sabi River right behind the unit.  That view would be appreciated tomorrow.  Right now all any of us could think about was sleep.
