This trip was mainly a present for my oldest daughter, who graduated from highschool with top marks. She started studying law at university in September. Our plan was actually to travel to Brazil to our apartment in Natal, which I booked in November 2006. Natal is situated in the North East of Brazil. But the building project of 340 apartments was delayed. We are still waiting and the deadline is now october 2009, hopefully, so meanwhile I have to explore other countries. Personally, I heard a lot about cruises which have become an affordable vacation, depends of course of the distance, but the fact that you have limited hours/time in each port did not excite me so much, but anyway ,both of my girls were thrilled about the idea of going on a cruise, so nothing much to do with 2 teenage girls and their desires:):)their strength is their might. Therefore I surrendered:) and we decided to take a 8 day Cruise with MSC Melody in the Mediterranian Sea.
We left Espergaerde very early in the morning 3 am, as we had a flight from Sweden to Barcelona at 7 am. My daughter's boyfriend took us to the central station i Copenhagen. From there we took the train to Malmo in Sweden and from Malmo a taxi to the airport. Found out that the airport is an hour ride by bus from the trainstation, and we would only have around 25 minutes before boarding which would definetely not be enough time for us girls to make the shopping in the duty free shop LOL.By the way, we booked the flight to Barcelona through Sterling Airways that recently went bankrupt:(
We arrived in Barcelona at 10 am and took a taxi to our hotel Roma Reial Hotel in the Gothic Quarter. As we did not sleep all night, we had a nap immediately after having had lunch. We would be embarking the MSC Melody next day at 10 am. From experience it is wise to have a day before embarking in case of not getting our suitcases.
