Downtown Visalia
February 17, 2007
We arrived at the Visalia Coffee Company just in time to hear the last set by a jazz band that plays there every Saturday morning, then sat down for a cup of coffee with X_Drive and his wife. We chatted for a while about secret TravBuddy algorithms and he gave me some tips about what to see at Sequoia National Park. Go TravBuddy! As many of you on the site probably already know, both Roger and his wife are incredibly friendly people and it was great to be able to meet up again with fellow TravBuddies and enjoy a pleasant morning conversation over coffee.
After coffee, Lisa and I wandered around downtown Visalia for a bit, along Main St. There are lots of neat little shops along Main St. and I wish we had more time to explore the town. People in Visalia seem quite friendly and it definitely was a different feel than L.A.!

Stopped here randomly, mainly because we were just looking for a quick place to grab a bite to eat before heading off to Sequoia. First impressions were that this place struck me as too trendy, and less focused on food. I ordered a large slice of pepperoni pizza. It wasn't terrible, but tasted like any pizza I could get at a cafeteria. Some of the other dishes might be better, and the atmosphere inside might be good (we ate outside, ordering our food to go), but based on these initial impressions I am not too sure I would go back.
Service was very friendly, however.

I thought the coffee here was pretty good and the interior is clean, warm, and friendly. The live jazz on Saturday mornings is also quite pleasant. Didn't try any of the food other than a cookie, which was large and chocolaty -- what more could you ask for?
It could also be that I thought the coffee was good because I had a cappuccino with two shots of espresso after a long drive...mmmm...caffeine.
