Start of Golden Week
Xia Xia had the week off from boarding school, so she was our guide. She flagged down a taxi and took us to the beach to a restaurant with an English menu. After lunch we walked down the road to see Ma’s other apartment that is still under construction. It’s in a nice spot, as close to the water as possible, and had an attractive pool and garden area. The guards would not let us into the actual building, but we did get to look around the outside. From there we jumped on a bus for a tour of the down town area. We walked around and visit some shopping areas, movie theater (No English movie) and the supermarket where we bought a couple of towels and some instant coffee.
From there we learned how to take bus 12 back to the apartment. Chen Fang and Juan-man prepared dinner and we ate with the family and then went to bed early to sleep. Monica was still feeling ill.
